At COP 16, the Indigenous Women Biodiversity Network (IWBN) organized a significant side event that brought together Indigenous women from various socio-cultural regions. The event was dedicated to sharing insights on the pivotal roles these women play in the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF). Participants highlighted their contributions to biodiversity conservation through traditional knowledge, leadership in community-driven initiatives, and sustainable resource management. This gathering underscored the importance of recognizing and incorporating Indigenous women’s perspectives in global biodiversity strategies to ensure effective and inclusive implementation.
